Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
1. Why this policy exists
Salket gives you real phone numbers on the public phone network, and will offer them on WhatsApp once that feature launches. Misuse harms the people you contact, puts our numbers and carrier relationships at risk, and can break the law.
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of our Terms of Service. Words defined in the Terms mean the same here. It applies to everyone on your account, including Admins and Members.
2. Our partners' rules bind you too
Salket runs on Twilio's network and on Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. By using Salket, you agree to follow:
- the Twilio Acceptable Use Policy, for all calls, SMS and numbers;
- the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and the WhatsApp Commerce Policy, for all WhatsApp messages.
If one of those policies is stricter than this AUP, the stricter rule applies. If you break them, Twilio or Meta may act against the number, and so may we.
3. Spam and bulk messaging
You must not:
- send unsolicited bulk messages, by SMS or WhatsApp;
- send marketing messages to anyone who has not given the consent the law requires;
- keep messaging someone after they have opted out (for example by replying STOP);
- buy, rent or scrape lists of numbers to message;
- send US business texts without completing A2P 10DLC registration, or send traffic that does not match what you registered;
- use WhatsApp outside Meta's rules on templates, opt-in and the customer service window.
4. Calls and telemarketing
You must not:
- make robocalls, or calls using an autodialler or a prerecorded or artificial voice, without the prior consent the law requires;
- break telemarketing and Do-Not-Call rules. This includes the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule and the National Do Not Call Registry, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the Telephone Preference Service, and the Australian Do Not Call Register Act 2006;
- send commercial electronic messages that break the Australian Spam Act 2003, or equivalent anti-spam laws where you or your recipients are;
- call people at times the law forbids.
5. Caller ID
You must not spoof caller ID. That means you must not make a call or send a message that shows a number you are not authorised to use, or hide who you are in order to deceive, cause harm or get something of value.
6. Fraud, phishing and illegal content
You must not use Salket to:
- commit fraud, or trick people into handing over money, passwords, codes or personal information (phishing, "smishing" or "vishing");
- impersonate a person, business or government body;
- send or store illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, content that infringes someone else's rights, or content promoting illegal goods or services;
- commit any other crime.
7. Harassment
You must not use Salket to harass, threaten, stalk, bully or intimidate anyone, or to send hateful content.
8. Toll fraud and traffic pumping
You must not:
- commit toll fraud or International Revenue Share Fraud (IRSF). That means generating calls or messages to premium-rate or high-cost numbers so someone profits from the charges;
- pump traffic. That means creating artificial call or message volume, including to boost a number's traffic or to profit from termination fees;
- run test calls or messages in bulk to high-cost destinations.
Our fraud controls, such as spending velocity limits and country permissions, may block calls or messages to high-risk destinations automatically.
9. Reselling
You must not resell, sublease or give Salket Numbers to people outside your account, or sell access to Salket as your own telecoms service.
10. Call recording
If Salket later lets you record calls, you are responsible for following call-recording laws. Many places require every party to a call to consent before it is recorded. You must get the consent the law requires, tell people when a call is recorded where the law says so, and store recordings lawfully.
11. Emergency numbers
You must not make false or hoax emergency calls, or call emergency numbers to test Salket. You must keep your emergency address accurate. See the Emergency Calling Notice.
12. Verification and security
You must not:
- give false identity or business information, or fake documents, for a Number or registration;
- get around identity checks, regulatory checks, spending limits, country permissions or any other control;
- share your login or let someone else use your account to avoid our checks;
- probe, attack or overload Salket, or try to reach data you are not allowed to see.
13. What we do if you break this policy
We may, immediately and without notice:
- suspend a Number;
- suspend the carrier sub-account we set up for your account;
- suspend or close your account;
- block calls or messages;
- forfeit Credit that was gained through fraud or abuse;
- report the activity to Twilio, Meta, regulators or law enforcement.
Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you what happened and why. If you are on a team account, we may act against the whole account, not just the person who broke the rules.
If you think we got it wrong, email support@salket.com.
14. Reporting abuse
If someone is using a Salket Number to spam, scam or harass you, email support@salket.com with the number, the date and time, and what happened. We will look into it.
15. Changes
We may update this policy as laws and our partners' rules change. For a material change, we will give you 30 days' notice, as set out in the Terms of Service.
